I’ve tested a lot of web hosts, but DreamHost stood out to me for one simple reason — it offers no-nonsense WordPress hosting that works well for DIY users. If you’re someone who prefers figuring things out yourself but still wants reliable support behind the scenes, there’s a lot to like here.
When I first signed up, I wasn’t expecting much. But after setting up a live WordPress site, running real stress tests, and pushing it through traffic spikes, I was honestly surprised by how stable and responsive the platform was, especially for the price.
In this review, I’ll walk you through what I tested, where DreamHost shines, where it still falls short, and who I think it’s best suited for. I’ll also share some behind-the-scenes performance data that most hosting reviews skip.
If you’re a blogger, small business owner, or just someone looking for dependable hosting with flexible billing and built-in backups, then this review will help you decide if DreamHost is the right fit.
My Verdict on DreamHost
After putting DreamHost through speed tests, stress tests, and uptime monitoring, I think it’s one of the best value options for WordPress users who don’t need hand-holding.
It’s affordable, reliable, and surprisingly capable, as long as you’re comfortable using a custom control panel instead of cPanel.
It’s not perfect. You won’t get instant phone support, and the entry-level email accounts are only free for 3 months. But DreamHost makes up for it with daily backups, a generous refund policy, and performance that held up even under load.
DreamHost is worth a closer look if you want flexible pricing, solid uptime, and a low-maintenance way to host your WordPress site.

If you’re curious how I tested DreamHost and why I trust these results, the following sections break down everything I did and what I found.
My Hosting Evaluation Criteria
For this review, I didn’t rely on marketing pages or affiliate hype. I signed up for a real DreamHost plan, installed WordPress, and ran a full round of hands-on performance tests.
Here’s what I focused on to evaluate DreamHost for WordPress users:
- Ease of Use: I explored their custom control panel and dashboard to see if they are beginner-friendly, especially for users moving from cPanel.
- Speed and Reliability: I ran speed tests using Pingdom and GTmetrix, and performed uptime monitoring and global response time tests to simulate real-world conditions.
- Stress Testing: Using K6, I simulated up to 50 concurrent visitors to see how well their servers hold up under traffic spikes.
- Support Experience: I tested DreamHost’s live chat, ticket system, and knowledge base to evaluate how quickly and effectively they handle real support questions.
- Pricing Breakdown: I compared their web hosting and managed WordPress plans to see which ones offer the best value, and where the hidden trade-offs are.
This way, everything in this review is based on real use, not just what sounds good on paper.
Why You Can Trust WPBeginner 🧡
Why You Can Trust WPBeginner
At WPBeginner, we’ve spent the last 16+ years reviewing and recommending WordPress hosting providers based on real testing, not sponsored fluff or marketing hype.
We run performance benchmarks, interact with support teams, and set up live WordPress sites so you can see how a host performs under real conditions, not just perfect demos. You can learn more about our editorial process here.
This DreamHost review is based on actual testing, site setup, speed data, and support conversations — all to help you make the most informed decision possible.
Bottom line: I found DreamHost to be fast and reliable. They have flexible hosting plans and friendly technical support.
That being said, let’s get into the detailed DreamHost review so that you can compare the test results and make up your mind.
About DreamHost

DreamHost has been around since 1997 — making it one of the few independent hosting companies still going strong after more than two decades. It was started by four college friends in California and now powers over 1.5 million websites worldwide, including more than 750,000 WordPress installs.
I hosted my personal website on DreamHost for a very long time. And what I love most about DreamHost is its focus on simplicity.
They’ve built their own custom control panel instead of using cPanel, and while it takes a minute to adjust, it actually feels cleaner once you get used to it.
They’re also a certified carbon-neutral host and part of the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce. This is a nice bonus if sustainability matters to you, and it’s not something many providers prioritize.
While they offer everything from monthly to cloud to managed WordPress hosting, I could tell right away that DreamHost is built for self-starters. If you like having control without needing constant support, this host will feel like home.
DreamHost Pros and Cons
After testing DreamHost, here’s what I found to be its biggest strengths — and where it still has room to improve.
✅ What I Like
- 97-day money-back guarantee: That’s one of the most generous refund windows in hosting. It gives you time to really test things out without pressure.
- Free domain + privacy: You get domain registration and WHOIS privacy included, with no hidden upsells like some other hosts.
- Daily backups included: Even the entry-level web hosting plan backs up your site automatically every day.
- NVMe SSD storage and unmetered bandwidth: My test site loaded quickly, even before I enabled caching or a CDN.
- Clean, custom control panel: Once I got used to it, DreamHost’s dashboard was easier to use than I expected. Everything’s in one place.
❌ What I Don’t Like
- No phone support by default: You can request a callback, but it costs extra and isn’t instant. Live chat works, but it’s not always ideal.
- Limited free email: Email accounts are only included for free for the first 3 months on their web hosting plans.
- Learning curve for the panel: If you’re used to cPanel, DreamHost’s custom panel takes some getting used to.
- U.S.-based data centers only: This might affect latency slightly for international traffic without a CDN.
DreamHost Performance Tests
Performance is always one of the most significant deciding factors for me when choosing a host, especially for WordPress sites. To see how DreamHost stacks up, I ran a series of speed, response time, and stress tests using a live demo site built with WordPress.
Here’s what I found.
Speed Test Results

I ran a GTmetrix test on a fresh WordPress install hosted with DreamHost. The results were strong — fully loaded in just 470ms, with a Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) of 375ms and no layout shifts or blocking time at all.
GTmetrix gave DreamHost a performance grade of 100%, and the structure scored 97%. That is excellent even before any speed optimization or caching tweaks.
That’s the kind of head start I love to see when launching a new site.
Stress Testing (K6 by Grafana Labs)
I used K6 to simulate up to 50 virtual users hitting the site at once. This is the kind of surge you’d expect during a promotion or product launch.
To really understand how DreamHost holds up, I tested both with and without caching enabled.

With caching turned off, response times fluctuated as more users joined.
The site stayed up, but you could see it struggling a bit, which is common when caching isn’t active.

As soon as I enabled DreamHost’s built-in caching, the results improved dramatically. The site handled 6,600 total requests with an average response time of just 270ms.
There were no slowdowns or failed requests. Enabling caching is a must if you’re planning to use DreamHost for a blog, small business website, or online store.
Server Response Time

I also tested global response time using PageSpeedPlus to simulate visits from different locations. DreamHost’s U.S. server in Oregon performed extremely well, completing the full load in just 1 second with a 46ms render time.
Performance stayed solid across North America and Europe, with Canada and Frankfurt staying under 3 seconds. The only noticeable slowdown came from Tokyo and Canada Central, but those could be improved with a CDN (I recommend Cloudflare’s free CDN, which also includes a built-in cloud firewall for improved website security).
Uptime Monitoring

During my review period, I ran 24/7 uptime monitoring to catch any outages, even short ones. I’m happy to report that DreamHost delivered strong results: 99.82% uptime over a 30-day window.
There was one short outage totaling about 18 minutes, but the server recovered quickly. That’s still a reliable track record for web hosting, especially when paired with their built-in backup tools for peace of mind.
Features and Ease of Use
Instead of using cPanel like most other hosts, DreamHost built their own custom dashboard. I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first.
But after using it for a few days, I found it surprisingly clean and easy to navigate.

I could manage everything in one place without dealing with a cluttered interface. This included websites, domains, email accounts, databases, and backups.
It might not have every advanced toggle that cPanel users are used to, but it covers the essentials well.
- One-click WordPress install: It only took me about 60 seconds to launch a clean WordPress site.
- Free domain + privacy: DreamHost includes a domain name and WHOIS privacy with all plans.
- Daily backups: I use Duplicator to back up all my WordPress websites. However, it is still good to know that there is an additional daily backup stored by the hosting provider.
- Built-in caching (for WordPress): This made a big difference in my performance tests. It’s included for free.
- Custom control panel vs. cPanel: I didn’t miss cPanel. DreamHost’s panel felt faster and more streamlined.
If you’re switching from another host or just getting started, DreamHost makes it easy to manage your site without needing a developer. Everything you need is in one place, and nothing feels overly complicated.
DreamHost Plans and Pricing
DreamHost offers a variety of hosting plans, but the two I focused on during testing were their Web Hosting and Managed WordPress (DreamPress) plans. Both come with solid features, but the right one depends on how much performance and flexibility you need.
Every plan includes NVMe SSD storage, free SSL, and daily backups. New site owners also get a free domain for the first year with yearly plans, which is a nice perk.
Web Hosting
This is the most budget-friendly option and is great for beginners, small blogs, and new projects. These plans are best when paid annually, but monthly options are available.
| Plan | Web Hosting Launch | Web Hosting Growth | Web Hosting Scale |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price (First Year) | $2.99/month | $3.99/month | $9.99/month |
| Websites | 25 | 50 | 100 |
| Monthly Visits | ~40,000 | ~200,000 | ~400,000 |
| Storage | 25 GB NVMe | 50 GB NVMe | 100 GB NVMe |
| 20 Mailboxes (Free 3 mo.) | 40 Mailboxes (Free 3 mo.) | 60 Mailboxes (Free 3 mo.) |
The Web Hosting Growth plan is marked “Most Popular” and is the best starting point for most users.
It provides enough resources to handle growing traffic and gives you the flexibility to host up to 50 websites.
Keep in mind that email is only free for the first three months. After that, it becomes a paid add-on starting at $1.99 per mailbox per month or $19.99 per mailbox per year.
Managed WordPress Hosting (DreamPress)
If you’re building a growing site that needs better speed, security, or staging tools, then DreamPress is worth looking at. It’s a fully managed WordPress hosting plan that’s over 5x faster than their web hosting.
It comes with:
- Automatic WordPress core updates
- Pre-installed SSL and private IP (great for eCommerce)
- SSD storage, unmetered bandwidth, and caching built in
- One-click staging and daily on-demand backups
- Unlimited CDN and Jetpack Professional on higher-tier plans
| Plan | Visitors/Month | Storage | Price (Monthly) |
|---|---|---|---|
| DreamPress | ~100,000 | 30 GB SSD | $16.95/month |
| DreamPress Plus | ~300,000 | 60 GB SSD | $24.95/month |
| DreamPress Pro | ~1 million+ | 120 GB SSD | $71.95/month |
If you want a hosting plan that takes care of the technical stuff for you, DreamPress is a nice upgrade. It’s especially helpful for online stores or high-traffic sites that need extra stability.
Bonus Tip 💡: WPBeginner readers get a special discount on web hosting or 16% off DreamPress with our exclusive DreamHost coupon. Click here to apply it automatically.
Just remember: DreamHost’s best prices are for the first term. Renewal rates are higher, so it’s smart to lock in the longest billing cycle you can comfortably afford.
DreamHost Customer Support Experience
I tested DreamHost support using both live chat and tickets, just like I would if something broke on a real site. Overall, the support team was friendly and helpful, though there are a few trade-offs to know about.

✅ What I Like
- 24/7 availability: You can reach them anytime via live chat or email ticket.
- Award-winning support: DreamHost won both the 2025 Stevie Gold and Globee® Awards for service excellence.
- Helpful knowledge base: Their tutorials are easy to follow and cover most topics.
- Positive user feedback: Many users praise their fast response times and friendly staff.
❌ What Could Be Better
- No phone support by default: You can request a callback, but it’s paid and not in all plans.
- Email response time: Some replies can take up to one or two hours.
- Mixed reviews: A few users report issues with slow resolutions or trouble reaching support during busy hours.
In my experience, chat was the best option. I usually got connected to a human within 2–5 minutes, and they explained things clearly without copy-paste scripts.
Tickets were slower, but they were still answered within an hour. If your issue is urgent, go with chat first.
If you ever need hands-on help, DreamHost also sells professional services for site management, SEO, and development. It’s a nice add-on if you’re running a business site or just want extra peace of mind.
DreamHost’s support is solid if you’re okay with chat and email. But if you prefer phone calls and fast escalations, that’s something to consider before signing up.
Final Verdict: Should You Use DreamHost?
After using DreamHost for years and then testing it thoroughly again for this review, I’m genuinely impressed with the value they offer. It’s a great fit for WordPress users who want control, but don’t want things to feel complicated.
Performance was solid across the board. My site stayed fast and stable, even under load, and their daily backups and custom dashboard made management feel simple.
DreamHost isn’t trying to be flashy. Instead, they focus on reliability, privacy, and offering good tools at a fair price — and they mostly deliver on that promise.
Who is it for: If you’re a DIY website owner, blogger, or small business with a WordPress site, DreamHost is a strong choice. Their support team is helpful, and the knowledge base is packed with tutorials if you like solving things on your own.
DreamHost delivers a fast, affordable, and well-supported WordPress experience for most users, especially if you’re okay working through chat and email.

My questions were answered right away, as in the past. That’s why I stay loyal to Dreamhost.

We use Dreamhost for a simple WP website and a few mailing lists (using their mailman interface) . It’s very inexpensive, so I have little reason to complain. There has been the occasional email issue (stuck mail because of a hung process on the mail server or similar) and the occasional slow WP site. Tech support has been good, competent, and responsive, if sometimes a bit slow to reply to a submitted problem. Good value, I say.
AG Wright
My web identity was hacked and all my copyrighted material was stolen and hosted on DreamHost. Well, they did respond to my issue quickly, but provided very little help other than to tell me to Google how to file a formal complaint. I did, and wrote a formal letter demanding the illegally used content be taken down, however, as a hosting company I feel that DreamHost should have a system already in place for dealing with this huge internet issue.
As a person who had a legal violation against me, it should be EASY and EFFICIENT for me to file a complaint and my PRIVATE INFORMATION should be immediately removed from their servers. As it is, I have had to do a lot of research and work to file my compliant. I believe that all web hosts should have automatic tools for handling such issues and proving who is the real owner of the copyrighted information. Also, all web hosts should have links to legal tools that can be used against the violators of copyright law.
As it is, this is extremely hard to find. Just because Dream Host makes their living hosting websites, doesn’t mean they have no legal responsibility to the public. There is a legal precedent for this; it is called “Duty of Care” and i means that providers of services have a LEGAL OBLIGATION to make sure that the public is not harmed by their business actions. Right now, the public at large can easily be HARMED BY DREAM HOST because they do NOTHING to help protect against COPYRIGHT VIOLATIONS.
George Manalo-LeClair
We got hacked and Dreamhost saved the day by helping us deal with the fallout. The customer service and tech support was excellent. Fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.
Manuela
Never seen such a quick and great customer service. Never. Online chat is a helpful service and they are there…every time you need! Great.
Denis
if you are looking for big problem with your website it is your choice! there is no such worst hosting anywhere. support do nothing. but they have one their own style – at any time you may lose one of database without backup. and support simply tell you – com back later))) support tickets unanswered 48 hours. still site does not work. live chat support can only open your panel and do the same as you can))) do not use dreamhost even it is cheaper.
Doug Taylor
I came to DreamHost to host a WordPress site. They are very easy to work with and their support is prompt, helpful, and professional. I would recommend them.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to learn WordPress tech info so decided to go to a more plug and play website. However, DreamHost was top notch with their guidance and support!
Ben
DreamHost has provided excellent service thus far. They have been very helpful and prompt in assisting me in getting an account up and running. Customer service has been patient and courteous. One-click installs are available in the control panel, which is convenient and saves me time. Overall, a very positive experience with Dreamhost up to this point.
Sushubh
I am currently a very peculiar problem on my DH VPS where one of my website running XenForo starts showing MySQL related errors for a small duration of time during the same time every day.
DH people of course blamed the script which is somehow causing this issue. XenForo developers blame a MySQL bug for this issue. Me? I have been offered no resolution by either parties. I am basically on my own.
I am quite happy with Dreamhost otherwise. Their backend is amazingly simple to use. Things usually just work on Dreamhost. Even the customer support excels on simpler requests.
But this particular issue… Since they offer shared MySQL servers even on VPS solutions… They are of very little help to my need. They claim that their MySQL servers are operating optimally during the time I face issue on it. Maybe it is. But my site still becomes kind of glitchy and I can do nothing about it.
I am currently working on starting a MySQL instance on their DreamCloud platform to see if an unshared MySQL server fixes my issue. I would have to do this completely on my own because well it is a non-managed service in the end.
Lee
Great customer service, great service overall! I sent a help ticket and got an answer in just a few hours solving my problem. The system is set up well to as to not insult anyone but also provide the necessary information. Fabulous service.
Rodolfo Naves
After several years of being customer of DreamHost, in one occasion and tried to switch to another company but the technical support team solve my problems early in most cases, so today I see no reason to change, I remain with Dream Host, and very satisfied.
Mikel Jones
Our non-profit is so grateful to have dreamhost services and their support. It took quite awhile to learn the control panel and WordPress as this was our first website, but the dreamwiki and support tickets always helped resolve questions and issues. Thanks again so much for your support Dreamhost, we are forever grateful!!
Joe Russo
I have been using Dreamhost for 3 or 4 months and overall I am satisfied with their service. They offer a reasonable cost for a reasonable service and glad I am using their service. I use Tomcat which they clearly will tell you that it is not supported, but will give you sudo root access so it can be installed. I have been able to setup and use Tomcat with minimal issues, but they are not very good about helping in general when the word Tomcat is used in a sentence. The standard reply was we don’t support it even if you are not really needing a solution to Tomcat. Even though they have a knee jerk response the overall service and they will try and help if you prod them to help. I am overall glad that I chose Dreamhost and would recommend them using Tomcat, but be prepared to dig in and figure out solutions to minor issues that may arise without much help.
Nathaniel Stalling
I had a problem setting up my site, but the DreamHost support team helped me set it the way I wanted it. Great job.
Doug Adams
I’ve had my website at one host or another for fifteen years. I’m no server expert, so whenever I have to move and set up at a new host, I’ve got to brush-up on my FTP, MySQL, PHP and all that all over again. And I get just as nervous and anxious as any newbie with their first site. DreamHost support answered my questions quickly and patiently. Setting up was easy. And I must say, their Wiki and Forum are great places to research your questions and allay your fears. I highly recommend DreamHost.
Dana
I have had access and received tech support for two years until the most recent incident. When i need some tech support this week, I suddenly did not have the right email. After going back and forth with various representatives to try and determine if I was authorizes to make changes, i got some helpful advice. my site was down for three whole days during a very busy time. Not good enough.
Eric Pastor
I had a question regarding my renewal for my non-profit organization’s website being hosted by Dream host. Their response was fast and made my day. Thanks Dreamiest!!!
Rob Webster
For about 5 years I had a hosting service that was rude, condescending, and problematic. I was afraid to change hosts because I had never moved a WP site before and didn’t want to deal with complications. What’s the saying again? “When the pain of remaining where you are becomes greater than the pain of making a change, it’s past time to make the change.”
I’m a huge fan of Dreamhost. Seriously. I didn’t know hosting could be so good. I had a WP problem last week that I thought was surely out of range of what they offer for support, but I had been trying to fix a login issue for a couple of hours and had only made things worse. Using Live Chat, Dreamhost helped me fix the problem in about 2 minutes. TWO MINUTES.
I’m a fan.
Jesy
I had a great experience with the customer chat. My issue was resolved within the first 5 minutes of talking to the rep. My old hosting site would either, A. take over a weeks to respond or B. not respond at all. A+ service.
Marivany
when i have a problem they solved it very fast
mike hayward
So I could not get an answer from the Chat support
they suggested I open a ticket and wait for a response
the ticket promise that the reply would be forthcoming in 24 hours
the ticket was responded to 1 week later
the respondee suggested that if the problem occurred again to contact chat support when the problem manifests again
the problem did not get solved at the point you see!
so the next time it occurred – I contacted the Chat support who were very cheerful! and cheerfully suggested I open a ticket to get a more advanced analysis
4 days after that I got a reply from the ticket saying that the RAM automatically uprates to take account of the 503 errors which keep occurring and cheerfully suggested that I contact Chat Support when the problem occurs again…..
sure enough when the problem occurred I contacted Chat support – who said that they did not really know much about Wordpress set ups and he would “reach out” to that department and would I mind terribly opening up a ticket to get a more expert reply…….
Now there is a moral to this tale…..but I really ought to open up a ticket to get the answer to that….
Zaheer Ahmed Shaik
Most of the Hosting Services won’t reply for the queries soon. The person has to wait few days for answer from them. I really satisfied with DreamHost support system and their way of response in short time.
Keep it Up…! Thank You…!
Eric Warlaumont
DreamHost wears its name perfectly. Than you for being so responsive and efficient.
Paige Schmidt
I’ve been with DreamHost for years, and have never had an issue! Super pleased with them and how helpful they are. I love their “chat support” feature. I’ve gotten step by step guidance from their staff when I wasn’t sure how to do something on my own. All in all, super happy with DH. I’ve never had a problem :).
Paul Edwards
Dreamhost responded the next day to my question in a way that enabled me to solve a problem
I didn;t need to have because I learned of built-in Dreamhost tools that did the job of an app that had become a nuisance.
Brian
I really like Dreamhost! My sites got hacked a few years back due to a WordPress vulnerability. They worked with me to get everything patched up. I never expected them to support my code, but just host it. But they went way out of their way to help me.
I have about 5 VPS as well. They work well. Super fast with SSD’s.
Sean Donovan
I have run a small web design and IT company for fifteen years and have used a lot of different hosts, but Dreamhost consistently gives good service and continuously improves. They recently moved all my sites over to an SSD based shared server. which makes my Wordpress sites faster. They have a wiki which answers lots of questions if you are a self-study type of person.
They have paid phone support and free email support, which, for the little I pay per month, is the way it should be. My experience with Dreamhost has been 10 plus years and yes, they have gone through growing pains, but when things are not working, most times they are already aware of the issue and posting status updates (i.e. status.dreamhost.com). It was the transparency that first drew me to them (because every host has problems) and in large part, what keeps me. I don’t care if they have problems, as long as they are fixing them. They also work hard to keep spam from getting their outgoing email IP addresses black listed, something that other hosts regularly fail to do.
I wasn’t paid for this feedback and was just happy recently when they randomized a client’ email password because it looks like it had been compromised.
Sean.

Was having Issues with my Host, Decided to move to Dreamhost, Paid for their Most Expensive Dedicateed Hosting Package and I was given the Login Details after many hours (Was Pissed), The Login came after 48hrs and then I contact them asking them to help me Migrate from my Present Host to Dreamhost, I was told that they can’t help me with their Migration.. Even if am to do it myself, their Admin Panel is not Friendly.. I have never heard it from anywhere, Any Host will gladly help their Customer move their Content. I Immediately dislike Dreamhost.. I requested for a Refund and I got back my Money 4 days after… I won’t come near them again.
Michal Eliyahu
Exellent support! Quick and obliging.
JR Geoffrion
The Dreamhost customer service team was able to quickly determine my Wordpress issue and suggest the right solution on first attempt! A+++
Alla Gringaus
I know Dreamhost’s guys by name, at least a dozen of top notch engineers who help me daily, nightly, every time I need anything. It’s all nonsense about nastiness. Not only engineers there are knowledgeable and prepared for any question, they’re fundamentally nice people. I brought into Dreamhost at least 20 of my freelance clients – all happy! On top of all, Dreamhost has advanced technology and consistently innovates. Wiki is excellent and to date, support – superb. Over the years, I’ve dealt with at least a few hosting companies. Dreamhost is at the top of my list for both quality of technology and service provided, and, trust me – I don’t have neither extra time nor tolerance for incompetence.
tiffney
I received assistance with my issue in a very timely manner and with professionalism and exactness to assist someone that does not usually work well with these types of things. I was satisfied with Dream Host in this situation.
Stefania
I am constantly impressed by Dreamhost’s technical support. Everyone I have chatted with has been very knowledgeable and always solves my problem. I especially appreciate that chat is open even late at night. Thanks a million!
Subhash
our site is down and the customer support executive did not bother to answer any of our questions , and quit saying that we’ve send you a mail reg this. I contacted the customer support since i could not make anything out from the mail !!
Poorest of poorest customer service from DreamHost !!!!
Chris
Let me preface by saying that I’m not some payed shill. I understand that there is a cottage industry built on webhost referral bonuses.
OK, now that that’s out of the way, I think I lucked out. I say that because back when I first got started with Dreamhost, I had no prior experience to compare it with; this changed recently. I’m in the process of helping a friend migrate from another webhost that doesn’t have nearly the quality of customer service that dreamhost has.
Customers can reach Dreamhost customer service in real time using live chat. Also, they’re very understanding. They’re not pedantic or condescending — something that could turn off any noobie.
I’m on the shared server program. I’m loving the quick installs, ssh (way, way superior to ftp), and availability for using PHP, SSI, mysql, and a bunch of other stuff I don’t understand.
I give them five thumbs up.
Ximena
Excellent choice!
Rogelio
Great service, Im very glad !!
henrietta
When I’m working on the fly I can always depend on Dreamiest customer service to get me quick answers. Love these guys.
Anthony
Dreamhost overall is a decent web host, but they are unable to provide any type of robust developer support and basically you must fend for yourself. 2 out of 5 stars
Prakash Advani
After being a customer for 9 years, dreamhost is disallowing me on hosting backups.
Planning to move out and take a hosting which doesn’t have any restrictions.

VPS server goes down at-least 2 times in a day. support not being helpfull, always sending same wiki articles instead of helping with actual issue.
I was forced to move from shared hosting to VPS due to timeout issues on shared hosting.
now dreamhost is forcing me to add more memory to VPS on added cost.
I am a dreamhost customer from last 6 years and now I am seriously looking for a alternative who is more transparent. I don’t mind paying more for your service at-least tell me why I am doing it ?

The spiking on our VPS is down to poor server tuning issues.
It has been quite tricky to explain this to support which would be a great help – instead of blaming server loading which use an average of under 10% capacity.

Gosh Darn it – dont contact the support on the week-end
Why I hear you say?
Well lazy responses – cant be bothered to check the issues – must get back to my game of table tennis whilst the managers are away!
slap wrist for me.

I was able to get all the support I needed quickly! I love their chat feature.

We have been with Dreamhost for over 5 years and have had no problems other than those caused by ourselves, each and every time I have brought our site or emails down a quick chat on-line with Dreamhost Agents and they fix what we have done. Not only that they have also sent wiki links to pages for us to understand how things went wrong.
We have 8 domains hosted with multiple emails on each and they all run perfect.
Dreamhost deliver a great service, great support at a great price.

I am completely dissatisfied because I requested a backup and it was the same files that were haqueados and support nãodeu no solution.

while i like the dashboard of dreamhost, i find their technical support to be lacking and always difficult. As they try to push you to only work with them via web chat, they tend to ignore things you say and seemingly work from a manual.
If you need excellent customer service, do not go with this provider

I’m a web designer and developer and I am familiar with all the major web hosts. Dreamhost is my favorite by far. The main reason is that their support is excellent. They’re good communicators, I don’t have to wait very long, and when I explain what I’m trying to do they consistently find solutions. In my experience, most other hosts have a much less skilled support staff.
Their tools are easy to use. If I don’t know how to do something I just google “dreamhost [what I’m trying to fix]” and there’s usually very clear step-by-step directions.
What it boils down to is time. I get everything done faster using dreamhost. The reason is twofold: 1. they have better systems with greater horsepower, so things just work more often the first time, and 2. they have support people who are really good at meeting me at my level to solve my problems.
They are one of the secrets to our success. I recommend them.

My husband has used dreamhost for many years. When he died suddenly, the dreamhost people suddenly became nasty with totally unrealistic and unsubstantiated demands to allow my friends to continue our little community website. They were not allowed to make a payment, I can send you the list of demands that were made to me because my husband did not think about giving me power of attorney for this particular website. Among other things, they want his last will and testament brought before a judge to have it certified in order to keep our little community alive.
I cannot deal with those demands, am too busy putting my life back together after my loss.
I have never, ever come across a bunch of people less caring than this so-called support team!
I would never recommend them to anybody.

yes… such a nasty team. They think they’re above every other co. in this universe, even though there are millions of web hosting Cos that do provide good services !!!
