  26. Green Geeks asked me to write this review and I’m doing it. Here’s why: There’s a trend in restaurant table service where your server interrupts your conversation to ask how you like the meal. I’ve seen this everywhere from cloth napkin joints to formica tabletop joints. I always mumble “fine” with my mouth full, while thinking “Could you just leave me alone? I’m eating here!”

    A couple of years ago, my wife and I dined at an Italian restaurant in Manhattan. The server was snappy. He was polite without coddling us. He didn’t ask if we wanted more water, he just brought it when our glasses were empty. When we were done, all I had to do was raise my head and Boom! there he was with the check. Not once did he ask if we were OK, he just made sure that we were. He didn’t pretend to be our friend or care about us as people, but he cared a lot about the job he did for us. He’s always be a stranger to me and I love him for it.

    Green Geeks reminds me of that guy. My web service is just up. I don’t have to think about it. Occasionally they send me notices about scheduled maintenance. They remind me to pay my bill and renew my domains. They don’t bombard me with a “How did we do?” survey after every single transaction. When I need help, I ask for it and someone helps me.

    My profile may not be that common, I have no idea. I do some amateur web-hosting and forward email from various vanity domains. For me, they’re perfect. Cheap, hassle-free, and reliable. I’m happy to recommend them.

  36. I recently switched to GreenGeeks after being with another hosting company for a very long time (close to 15 years), and it definitely took some time to do the migration of everything, but was well worth the effort, and here are a few of the reasons why.

    First, GreenGeek’s support is outstanding. And, I very much appreciate the 24/7 chat availability. My previous hosting service only offered contact via email or phone, and hours were limited. Plus, more recently, when I got a response to a question about an issue, it looked like scripted boiler plate copied-and-pasted text rather than a considered answer to my question (perhaps they’d become overstretched due to insufficient tech support staffing, or maybe it was a training issue). In contrast, in my short time with GreenGeeks so far, I’ve already received nothing but great help–prompt, courteous, unscripted, and from people who obviously know what they’re doing.

    Second, I’m very happy with the speed. This was the biggest issue I’d had with my previous host where, over the past couple years, response time had gotten slower and slower, eventually to the point where it was simply unacceptable (perhaps their servers had become overstretched with a growing customer base). And reporting the problem to them was futile; they didn’t seem to care to do anything about it. In contrast, my experience with GreenGeeks’s response time couldn’t be better–everything comes up immediately.

    Third, I love the fact that GreenGeeks is committed to being environmentally responsible.

  44. I’ve tried a lot of different hosting companies, Green Geeks continues to bet them all.

    The biggest reason? They don’t try and upsell you a bunch of garbage you don’t need. In fact, they don’t try and upsell you on anything. Nice and quiet. No nagging popups and emails and blah blah blah.

    The second reason? Every time I had a question they’ve always been quick to answer and help me via a chat window. Don’t mistake their quietness for absence. They are there and ready to help.

    Really, what more do you need?

  45. I’ve never dealt with hosting companies before. After a thorough research, I contacted their sales via website. Their sales agent was quick to offer me discounts and convinced me to sign up for a 3 year term. However, the sales agent never disclosed full terms and conditions of hosting which by the way cannot be found on their website. For example, I was never told that my domain was only free for the first year. I was shocked when I received an invoice from them. If I knew what I was signing up for, I would have never done it. No instructions were provided to me on the steps I needed to take after I signed up. I contacted them via their website chat. And, I literally had to pull the info on setting up and building my website from them. Here is just a few of them: misleading sales info on their website, outdated and inadequate cPanel features (website builder, SEO tools, email applications), incompetent technical support (most of the time they directed me to read Wikipedia for help), awful customer service (I demanded my money back and was told that it was too late; no one even attempted to settle my complaints), limited amount of website media usage – 200MB!!! For the past year, I’ve wasted lots of my time and resources dealing with GreenGeeks. Please do not waste yours. Use another hosting provider. P.S: Can’t wait for my contract to end.

  46. I’ve been using Greengeeks for 4 years now, and have not had an issue that was failed to resolve to my satisfaction in a timely manner.
