O FeedBurner fornece estatísticas, opção de otimização de feed, opção de publicação de feed e muito mais. A integração do FeedBurner e do Google Analytics é obrigatória para todos os blogs do WordPress. Neste artigo, mostraremos como você pode configurar os feeds do seu blog WordPress com o FeedBurner e usá-lo para ajudar a levar seu blog para o próximo nível.
Por que o FeedBurner é importante para os blogueiros?
O FeedBurner é um serviço gratuito repleto de opções que você não tem com o feed padrão do WordPress. Alguns dos recursos incluem:
- Estatísticas sobre seus assinantes de RSS para que você possa analisar e otimizar as publicações do seu blog.
- Ofereça aos seus usuários várias opções de assinatura, como e-mail e outros leitores de feed (Netvibes, Google etc.).
- Prova social (contagem de assinantes)
- Opção para personalizar seus feeds, como modificar os títulos das postagens, a marca e muito mais.
- Opção de enviar ping para vários serviços de leitura de feeds assim que você publicar suas postagens.
- Integração do Google Adsense para monetizar seus feeds RSS.

Apenas com essa pequena lista de recursos, você pode ver que ele é obrigatório para todos os blogs. Agora podemos passar para a configuração da conta do FeedBurner.
Configuração dos feeds do FeedBurner para WordPress
Primeiro, você precisará ter uma conta do Google (qualquer conta do Gmail funcionará). Visite a página de serviço do feedburner para iniciar esse processo.
Na primeira etapa, você digitará o link para o feed do seu blog WordPress. Se você tiver uma estrutura de URL do WordPress amigável para SEO, o link do seu feed deverá ser como yourdomain.com/feed/
Na etapa 2, você escolherá o título do seu feed e o endereço do feed. É recomendável manter o título de seu feed igual ao de seu blog. É melhor manter o endereço do feed curto e fácil de lembrar.
Tecnicamente, seus feeds foram criados, portanto, você não precisa mais seguir as etapas. Clique em Pular diretamente para o Gerenciamento de feeds.
Você verá uma página com um link para várias plataformas de blog. Ignore tudo isso, pois as abordaremos mais adiante neste artigo. Basta clicar na guia otimizar que você vê na imagem abaixo.
Na etapa 5, trabalharemos na otimização do feed do blog do WordPress. Você precisa se certificar de que tem a opção Browser Friendly ativada, o Smart Feed ativado e o FeedFlare ativado. Você pode ativar outros serviços se quiser, mas esses três serviços são obrigatórios. O BrowserFriendly torna a assinatura muito mais simples. O SmartFeed garante compatibilidade máxima com todos os aplicativos leitores de feeds. O FeedFlare cria interatividade nas publicações, adicionando e-mail e outras opções de compartilhamento.
Na etapa 6, daremos uma olhada em todas as opções de divulgação do feed. Você precisa permitir Assinaturas de e-mail no seu site porque há usuários que preferem receber atualizações por e-mail em vez de usar o Google Reader. O Pingshot deve ser ativado porque ele notifica os serviços quando você publica. O widget Feedcount permite que você exiba sua contagem de assinantes. Esse é um dos melhores métodos de prova social. A Awareness API é útil se você estiver tentando se listar em sites como o BuySellAds, pois eles podem extrair sua contagem de assinantes facilmente. Há outras opções interessantes, como Headline Animator e BuzzBoost, que você pode ativar se quiser.

Integrar o FeedBurner ao WordPress
Mesmo que você tenha configurado seu feed com o FeedBurner nas etapas acima, ainda não o integrou de fato ao WordPress. A primeira coisa que você quer fazer é parar de diluir seu feed e torná-lo um só. Você precisa criar um redirecionamento para que, quando os usuários tentarem visitar yourdomain.com/feed/, eles sejam redirecionados para a página de feed do Feedburner. Dessa forma, você pode acompanhar os assinantes do seu blog.
Há um plugin chamado FD FeedBurner que permite criar esse redirecionamento facilmente. Você também pode redirecionar seus feeds usando o arquivo .htaccess, mas não compartilharemos esse método porque não é algo que recomendamos para iniciantes.
A maioria dos temas do WordPress já vem com a integração do FeedBurner, como o Headway Theme, Standard Theme e outros. Se o seu tema não for compatível, use o plug-in acima.
Adicione a caixa de assinatura de e-mail em seu site
Primeiro, visite Publicize ” Email Subscriptions e, em seguida, copie e cole o código que eles fornecem no arquivo de modelo de sua preferência (principalmente sidebar.php). Lembre-se de que, para personalizar a aparência do formulário de e-mail, você precisa ter conhecimento prévio de HTML e CSS.

Hi – thank you for the information. Question for you, if you don’t mind. I am trying to edit my email format for my subscribers. I changed my feeds to show only the title of the post and 100 words of content, that’s all (before I was sharing the entire blog post with photos, content, etc). I would like for it to show 1 photo from the blog post as well, but I am having the hardest time trying to figure out how to do this without having to share the entire post in the email. It seems like you are using UTF7 as your character encoding. Visit Settings » Reading, if you see Character encoding option on that page, then change it to utf8.
If you do not see it there, then you need to deactivate all your plugins and switch to a default theme. Check your feed, if this resolves the problem then probably one of the plugin or theme is the culprit.
If this does not solve it, then you need to change DB_charset in wp-config.php. Edit your wp-config.php file. if you have define( ‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf7’); then change it to define( ‘DB_CHARSET’, ‘utf8’); If you have neither of them, then add define( ‘DB_CHARSET’,’utf8′);

Hi, I just moved a website from Blogger to WordPress.
Now Feedburner sends out not only the usual daily emails when a new post gets published. It also sends out summary emails every now and then with the last 8 articles in a list.
Feedburner was used on blogger already, so the feed didn’t change, the links are the same like before.
I think somehow FB thinks that all these posts are “new”. Any idea how to stop this?

Yes, your feed will still be at the same URL. What you are doing, is displaying your blog posts on a custom page. This does not change the chronological order of your posts or feeds.

I have an existing feed set up and am trying to set up a second one for a new website. In ‘my feeds’ when I type in the new domain name in ‘burn a feed right this instant’ I get the following message. The URL does not appear to reference a valid XML file. We encountered the following problem: Error on line 153: The string “–” is not permitted within comments.
Is this because I have a new website where the wordpress theme is not set up yet and I only purchased the domain 24hrs ago?

Note that this link could be different, or may not be there. For example, people using WordPress SEO plugin sometimes accidentally turn off their RSS feeds. Try deactivating all your plugins and then reactivate them one by one, check your feed each time.
