We created a WordPress-powered test site on SiteGround and filled it with dummy content for theme development with images.

After that, we used Pingdom’s website speed test tool to run our tests. These were the results we got:

This is incredible, but this website had almost no traffic, so the Pingdom test alone is insufficient.

To test how SiteGround servers would respond to increased traffic, we used a stress testing tool called K6 by Grafana Labs.

This tool gradually sends up to 50 users to see how the server would respond to increased traffic from multiple connections.

    TERRIBLE! As a senior web developer and tech guru. SiteGround shut down my site when a problem occurred. The proved to be unhelpful and incompetent. All that was required was to provide simple advice that that I could have used existing tool to recover my website using their recovery services, but instead I was locked out and my website was blacklisted and they held my site almost by ransom, insisting a third party to fix problem, while I spent dozens of hours trying to fix a problem they most likely caused.

This procedure is normally part of our security policy in case we have detected a problem on your account that is posing a security threat.

In our notice, we give you 7-days grace period to clean it and provide you with a report of the affected files and their location on the account.     Absolutely loved siteground until just recently when they have now HIDDEN THEIR CHAT behind a login and also forms you have to fill in.

    Their service is great, support is great WHEN YOU CAN FIND IT.

    As a result I doubt I will be recommending them again until they fix it.

    This is a REALLY BAD MOVE on their part and I advise people to look elsewhere for hosting that does not hard their live chat.
