FAQ: WordPress Feeds Not Working in Chrome? Here is How to Fix it

Recently we got another complaint from a user who said their RSS feed was not working. Instead of going to the RSS feed, the browser was giving them a download prompt. We have answered this question numerous times via email and twitter direct messages, so we decided to create a post on it. If your WordPress feeds are not working in Chrome, then here is how to fix it.

Why is my Feeds Not working in Chrome?

Not all browsers have the capability to interpret feeds, and one of the most popular browsers lacking this feature is Google Chrome.

How to Fix it?

Well, if you just want to fix it for yourself, then download the RSS Subscription Extension (by Google).

If you want to fix it for all of your users, then start burning your feeds with services like FeedBurner or FeedBlitz. Then simply use the FeedBurner or FeedBlitz link on your RSS icon. Or you can just redirect your WordPress feeds to the appropriate service.

Yes, I did not realize this but my feeds were showing up the XML code. I searched the forums thinking it was a WordPress error but it seems Google did not want to style feeds at all. The extension saved me. Thanks.
