Add a Notification to Old Posts in WordPress with Old Post Notifier

In the past we have shown you how you can expire posts or partial post content in WordPress. But what if you do not want to expire the older content? Maybe you want to keep it for the sake of SEO, pageviews, revenue etc? In this article, we will show you how to add a notification to your older WordPress posts, so your users know that it is old, and you can keep the post live on the site.

First thing you need to do is install and activate the plugin, Old Post Notifier.

Once you have activated it, you need to go to Settings » Old Posts Notifer and fill in the right settings.

You can select the minimum age of the post by entering the day. The notification will only appear on posts that meets the age requirement. You can exclude specific categories. You can select the styling and text on the settings page. Best of all, you can preview how it would look like on the settings page before going live.
