WordPress 3.5 – “Elvin” is Released

Just a few moments ago, WordPress 3.5 was released. The version is named Elvin in honor of drummer Elvin Jones who played with John Coltrane in addition to many others. WordPress 3.4 was downloaded over 28 million times. In WordPress 3.5, we saw some major new features like media uploader overhaul, new way to add plugins using favorites, twenty twelve theme, new welcome screen, and the end of the link manager. We wrote a long post about what’s new in WordPress 3.5 with features and screenshots.

Check out this short video that summarizes the things we think you will find interesting in WordPress 3.5.

Lastly, don’t forget to upgrade to WordPress 3.5.

Hi ! I agree with you regarding the new Media uploader : my website is both a portfolio and my blog, so for the first part is kind of intuitive and stuff, but for my blog articles is less practical.

  2. Wayne Stiles says:

Thanks for making the updates so easy to install.

One question. I noticed after I upgraded that I can no longer paste in/edit a caption below a picture. I have to open the image editor and make the change to the caption there.

I can type in the caption field, but when I try to paste the text lands in the main body copy below the picture.

Is this intentional? I’d love to see that get changed back.

    Thanks again.
