Quelle est la cause du problème de téléchargement d’images dans WordPress ?
Le problème de téléversement d’images dans WordPress est généralement dû à des droits de fichiers incorrects. Vos fichiers WordPress sont stockés sur votre serveur web hébergeur et ont besoin de droits spécifiques sur les fichiers et les répertoires pour fonctionner.
De mauvais droits sur les fichiers empêchent WordPress de lire ou de téléverser des fichiers sur le serveur hébergeur. Vous pouvez obtenir l’erreur WordPress suivante lors du téléversement d’un fichier image :
‘Impossible de créer le répertoire wp-content/uploads/2019/04. Son répertoire parent est-il accessible en écriture par le serveur?’
Il se peut aussi que l’erreur s’affiche :
‘L’outil téléversé n’a pas pu être déplacé vers wp-content/uploads/’.
Un autre signe de ce problème est la disparition de vos images de la médiathèque de WordPress.
Mon site fonctionnait bien avant. Qui a modifié les droits d’accès aux fichiers ?
Cela peut se produire pour un certain nombre de raisons. Une mauvaise configuration de votre serveur d’hébergement mutualisé peut parfois modifier ces droits sans que vous ne fassiez quoi que ce soit.
Par exemple, votre fournisseur d’hébergement a effectué une mise à jour qui a modifié de manière inattendue les droits des fichiers.
Si tout le reste fonctionne correctement sur votre site WordPress, vous pouvez simplement appliquer les droits de fichier corrects pour corriger le problème de téléversement d’images.
Ceci étant dit, voyons comment définir des droits de fichiers corrects pour corriger les problèmes de téléversement d’images sur votre site WordPress.
Résolution du problème de téléchargement d’images sur WordPress
Afin de commander la modification des droits des fichiers, vous devez utiliser un client FTP.
Tout d’abord, connectez-vous à votre site via FTP, puis accédez au dossier /wp-content/. Vous y trouverez le dossier Outil de téléversement des médias, dans lequel WordPress stocke tous vos outils téléversés, y compris les images.
Cliquez avec le bouton droit de la souris sur le répertoire Téléversés et sélectionnez « Droits sur les fichiers ».
La boîte de dialogue des droits d’accès aux fichiers s’affiche.
Tout d’abord, vous devez définir les droits d’accès au répertoire Téléversés et à tous les sous-répertoires qu’il contient sur « 744 ».
Pour ce faire, saisissez 744 dans la case de valeur numérique, puis cochez la case située à côté de « Rechercher dans les sous-répertoires ». Cliquez ensuite sur le bouton radio « Appliquer uniquement aux répertoires« .
Cliquez sur le bouton « OK » pour appliquer ces modifications. Votre client FTP va maintenant commencer à appliquer les droits d’accès aux répertoires.
Note : Si le fait de définir les droits sur les répertoires à 744 ne semble pas résoudre votre problème, essayez alors 755.
À l’étape suivante, vous devrez définir les droits d’accès à tous les fichiers du répertoire Téléversés.
Pour ce faire, cliquez avec le bouton droit de la souris sur le répertoire Téléversés et sélectionnez Droits des fichiers. Dans la boîte de dialogue des droits d’accès aux fichiers, modifiez la valeur numérique en « 644 ».
Cochez la case située à côté de « Récurrence dans les sous-répertoires ». Ensuite, vous devez cliquer sur le bouton radio « Appliquer uniquement aux fichiers ».
Enfin, il suffit de cliquer sur le bouton « OK » pour appliquer ces modifications.
Le client FTP va maintenant modifier les droits de tous les fichiers contenus dans le dossier Téléversement. Une fois que c’est fait, vous pouvez retourner dans la zone d’administration de WordPress et réessayer de téléverser des images.
Si votre site comporte des formulaires de téléversement de fichiers, vous devez également les tester.
Note: Si vous ne savez pas comment utiliser un client FTP, vous pouvez également utiliser le gestionnaire de fichiers fourni par votre entreprise d’hébergement WordPress. Comme les captures d’écran varient d’un hébergeur à l’autre, vous devrez vous adresser à leur support pour trouver des instructions.

Let’s add the fact that WordPress creates a new folder each month, in wp-content/uploads.
Probably, when the new folder is automaticaly created, it hasn’t the correct permissions :
We have to modify the permissions each month.

I have compressed the image multiple times, shrinking the size and optimizing it, yet I continue to receive this message even after shutting down the browser and starting again. Can you please advise me on how to upload these files? Thank you!

First try to check PHP interpreter version on your server. If it 7.4 – this may cause problems. Change it to 7.3.

Images to my wordpress site seem to upload correctly but then then disappear and an icon for broken image link appears. In the media library the image shows as a gray block. If I try to edit the image then I can see the image but when I save it again it’s gray again. I checked my permissions and the are set to 755.

I’m not sure this will solve my problem. I have an educational website and we give away free books and educational materials. Recently I uploaded a PDF document (a chart) into my library, put it in 2 of my web pages, and created the link to open it. That was fine, but later, I decided to improve the document, took it off, recreated it and uploaded it again to the library. The original document was deleted completely from my own files, but when I upload it to my website it comes up with the OLD document. Somehow the « delete permanently » feature within the library is NOT actually deleting it. HELP!

New image uploaded always has 640 permission. And if I access image with 640 permission, it will return 404. But if I change it to 644, I can access the image.
Is 640 the correct permission for image uploaded? Or is it 644?

I’m having a problem sizing my photos for a wordpress site and getting them to display correctly. I’ve resized the images several times to smaller, but they still appear showing only portion of the image and not the full image – even though I have also tried resizing in the edit section of the gallery! I’m having an issue when in editing mode upon uploading product images in gallery. I uploaded some images for a product gallery with no issues then I went to upload new ones for another product. I select the images/upload into gallery but instead of uploading the new ones I selected it uploads the ones from the previous upload.. Ctrl+F5, delete cookies, system restart… nothing. Still the same issue.
Any ideas?

Hi everyone,
I am scratching my head on this current issue with WordPress 5.0 logo uploading. The image file (59K) will upload to media no problem, but it WILL NOT show on the page, instead it would show my icon file instead. I don’t understand. I’ve tried resizing the size to 100px to no prevail.
Could this be the theme fault? I am using OceanWP. I tried contacting my host and they recommend getting my logo designer to optimise it for WP5.0. Which doesn’t make sense. if anyone could please give me any leads to this issue. Thank you!

Thanks for all your information and suggestions.
I tried everything:
– the 755,744,744 and 655 in filezilla. Nothing worked.
– Media, upload etc. Also nothing.
All of a sudden I could upload two images. And afterwards I tried the upload a 3rd image and now I am stuck with the same problem again. Every time I try to upload any image i get ‘ http-error’.
Does anybody have some last advice?
