Vor nicht allzu langer Zeit haben wir über WordPress 3.0 gesprochen, aber so wie es aussieht, sind wir auf dem Weg zu WordPress 3.1. Dem Umfang nach sieht es so aus, als würde die neue Version irgendwann Mitte Dezember 2010 erscheinen. Es gibt einige sehr aufregende Funktionen, die hinzugefügt werden, also lassen Sie uns gleich loslegen.
WordPress 3.1 Funktionen
Das Einfrieren der Funktionen erfolgt am 15. Oktober, so dass die unten aufgeführten Funktionen keineswegs endgültig sind. In der Zwischenzeit können neue Funktionen hinzugefügt werden, und einige Funktionen werden möglicherweise nicht hinzugefügt. Aber hier ist der allgemeine Umfang dessen, was kommen wird:
Interne Verlinkung
Dies ist eine der meistgewünschten Funktionen für diese 3.1 Version. Wir alle wissen, wie wichtig die interne Verlinkung für WordPress SEO ist. Diese neue Funktion wird es den Nutzern ermöglichen, ihre bestehenden Blogbeiträge zu durchsuchen und Links in den Inhalt einzufügen. Es wird eine Schaltfläche in das Panel zum Schreiben von Beiträgen eingefügt, genau wie bei externen Links, wo ein Popup-Fenster wie die Schaltfläche zum Einfügen von Medien angezeigt wird. Damit können Sie nach Beiträgen suchen oder eine Liste vorhandener Inhalte nach Titel, Datum, Autor usw. durchsuchen und diese für die Aufnahme auswählen. Sie können den Text eingeben, der verlinkt werden soll, oder den Titel des Beitrags als Standard verwenden. (Ich bin sehr gespannt auf diese neue Funktion)
Verwaltungsleiste
Wenn Sie einen WordPress.com-Blog verwendet haben, dann sind Sie damit bereits vertraut. In WordPress 3.1 wird eine Administrationsleiste hinzugefügt, um das Backend mit dem Frontend Ihres Blogs zu verbinden. Diese Funktion wird vor allem für Benutzer von Multisite-Installationen nützlich sein, aber auch für Single-Site-Benutzer, da sie mit nur einem Klick Zugriff auf das Dashboard, das Formular für neue Beiträge usw. bietet. Diese Funktion ist stark von der überarbeiteten Adminbar von WordPress.com und dem ursprünglichen Viper007Bond Adminbar-Plugin inspiriert. Laut Matt Mullenweg ist dies der „erste Schritt in Richtung eines Front-End-Editors“.
Anmerkung: Es gab einige Widerstände dagegen, dass diese Funktion in den Core integriert wird und nicht in ein Plugin. Es wurde ein Kompromiss diskutiert, ihn optional zu machen. Es wird also höchstwahrscheinlich etwas sein, das über die functions.php-Datei Ihres Themes aktiviert werden muss (das wäre unsere Vermutung). Wir werden Sie auf dem Laufenden halten, sobald diese Version näher rückt.
Ajaxified Admin-Bildschirme
Dies war Teil des WordPress Google Summer of Code 2010-Projekts, das von „scribu“ durchgeführt wurde. Die Idee dieser Funktion ist es, die Sortierung der meisten Spalten zu ermöglichen und die Sortierung, Suche und Paginierung zu ajaxen. Es führt auch einen neuen Paginierungsstil für edit.php-Seiten im wp-Backend ein. Wenn Sie zum Beispiel auf der Seite „Beiträge bearbeiten“ sehr viele Beiträge haben, erfordert die Paginierung einige Klicks, um auf Seite 10 zu gelangen. Diese neue Version macht es einfacher. Jane Wells bezeichnete sie als eine Paginierung im Stil von Hulu. Die Idee ist, dass Sie die Seitenzahl in das Feld eingeben können und diese Seite geladen wird, anstatt sich durch die Paginierungspfeile zu klicken.
Separates Netzwerk-Dashboard
Derzeit ist das Dashboard für mehrere Websites unübersichtlich und verwirrend. Mit dieser neuen Funktion wird das Netzwerk-Dashboard vom Site-Dashboard getrennt. Eine Option zur Erstellung eines persönlichen Dashboards als Ersatz für das globale Dashboard für diejenigen Benutzer, die ein Konto, aber keine Site in Multi-Site haben, wurde ebenfalls in Betracht gezogen. Diese Funktion kann auf WordPress 3.2 verschoben werden, da sie komplex und zeitaufwändig ist.
Quick Press Template Tag
In Ihrem WordPress-Dashboard gibt es einen wunderbaren kleinen Abschnitt für Quick Posting, auch bekannt als Quick Press. Dieses neue Template-Tag ermöglicht die Verwendung im Frontend Ihrer Website für die Erstellung von Quick Posts. Für angemeldete Redakteure wäre das eine tolle Funktion.
Verbesserte Benutzeroberfläche für die Suche und das Durchsuchen installierter Themes
Das Ziel ist es, die aktuelle Benutzeroberfläche (UI) mit der WordPress.com-Oberfläche zu tauschen, da diese viel benutzerfreundlicher ist. Es wäre sehr nützlich für Websites, die viele installierte Themes haben, insbesondere für Multi-Site-Benutzer, die in der Regel dazu neigen, Tonnen von Themes installiert zu haben.
Beitragsvorlagen / Beitragsstile
Da WordPress immer mehr zu einem CMS wird, ist dies eine dringend benötigte Funktion, die in WordPress 3.1 veröffentlicht werden wird. Sie würde es Designern/Entwicklern ermöglichen, benutzerdefinierte Post Templates und Styles zu erstellen. Das Ziel dieser Funktion ist es, einen Beitrag als einen bestimmten Stil/Typ/Art zu kennzeichnen. Einige Beispielstile sind „aside“, „gallery“, „link“ und „quote“. Dies ermöglicht es Themes, diese Beiträge entsprechend zu gestalten. Diese Idee ähnelt den „sticky posts“, geht aber noch einen Schritt weiter, da man nun zahlreiche einzigartig gestylte Beiträge haben kann. Unten sehen Sie die Beispiel-UI, aber auch hier handelt es sich nicht um das endgültige Bild. Es zeigt nur, wie es in WordPress 3.1 aussehen kann.
Erweiterte Taxonomie-Abfragen
Dies ist nichts für Anfänger, aber wir gehen davon aus, dass sich Entwickler darüber freuen werden. Mit dieser Funktion wird es einfacher, erweiterte Abfragen durchzuführen. Momentan gibt es zum Beispiel keine Möglichkeit, nach Beiträgen zu suchen, die sich in der Kategorie „Autos“ befinden, aber nicht das Tag „BMW“ tragen. Dies führt dazu, dass die Benutzer komplexe Kategoriesysteme erstellen müssen, um mehrere Taxonomien zu simulieren. Dies wird die Sortierung von Beiträgen und anderen Beitragstypen für Entwickler, die WordPress über seine Grenzen hinaus erweitern möchten, sehr einfach machen.
Wartung
Wie immer wird es Fehlerbehebungen und Verbesserungen an der Schnittstelle geben. Außerdem wird es einige kleine Korrekturen an der Custom Post Types API geben. Ein besonderer Hinweis: Dies wird die letzte Version sein, die PHP 4 unterstützt. WordPress 3.2 wird nur noch PHP 5.2 und höher unterstützen. Wenn Ihr Hoster nicht PHP 5.2 verwendet, wäre jetzt ein guter Zeitpunkt, ihn darauf anzusprechen. Wenn Sie nicht wissen, welche PHP-Version Ihr Hoster verwendet, können Sie das Plugin Health Check herunterladen. Mit diesem Plugin können Sie herausfinden, welche PHP-Version bei Ihrem Hoster läuft.
Zeitplan für WordPress 3.1
WordPress 3.1 soll bis Mitte Dezember veröffentlicht werden, vorzugsweise nicht später als am 15. Dezember, damit die Feiertage die Veröffentlichung nicht beeinträchtigen. Die Termine sehen wie folgt aus:
15. Oktober – Einfrieren der Funktionen; nach diesem Zeitpunkt werden keine neuen Funktionen mehr hinzugefügt, damit die Tests mit einem stabilen Produkt beginnen können (einschließlich der Tests zur Benutzerfreundlichkeit der neuen Funktionen).
1. November – Primäres Einfrieren des Codes; letzte Anpassungen, die auf den Tests nach dem Einfrieren der Funktionen basieren, sollten zu diesem Zeitpunkt abgeschlossen sein, und der Schwerpunkt verlagert sich auf die Behebung von Fehlern, um eine stabile Betaversion zu erreichen.
15. November – Beginn der Beta-Phase; von diesem Zeitpunkt an gibt es keine Verbesserungen mehr, sondern nur noch Fehlerbehebungen.
1. Dezember – Einfrieren der Zeichenfolgen; Übersetzer können sich freuen.
15. Dezember – Veröffentlichung von WordPress 3.1

Internal linking, finally! Im loving this update, been working in it all morning… freaked out when the post excerpts and custom fields were missing (theyre still there, in screen options, phew!)
Im interested in the post templates/post styles. Was able to activate it in my theme, but not exactly sure how to get it working. Would love a simple tutorial on simple ways to use this, if you have it in the works.

I’m using 3.1 now and I like it. I turn off the admin bar when I view my website, but keep it on in the backend. It gets in the way of clicking the website name in the upper left corner when you hover over the admin bar, but I can get used to it.
My favorite feature, by far, is the internal linking. Blogger was doing that for years and I missed it when I moved to WordPress. It’s in now, so that’s good!

No doubt that internal linking will be something that I appreciate on a more regular basis than many of the other features but it sounds like it will be a big update. I’m also anxious to get my hands on the network piece of this one as I manage many WP sites. Just curious if you know when the final 3.1 will be released or what the adjusted target is? I’m on a RC right now that’s a little loopy and am anxious for development to be wrapped up.

I am just hoping it’s going to be relatively simple to remove a certain feature from the theme if it’s not going to be used. I believe WP shouldn’t try integrating features which won’t be generic into the core and instead should provide such enhancements/functionality as plugins. I have always loved WP for it’s simplicity and I sincerely hope the core remains like that (i.e. to the point).
But what I am going to be looking forward to is going to be the advanced taxonomy queries you have mentioned. Right now you can’t do much complex queries using the API pertaining to taxonomies.

Hi, thanks for sharing. One thing I don’t fully understand about internal linking. Let’s say I update the permalink of post A that I had linked from within post B. Does the link inside B get automatically updated?

If you choose it via the internal linking feature, then yes it should get updated… Although we highly recommend that you don’t change permalinks and if you do… there is a 301 redirect, so you don’t lose any backlinks. There are plugins that lets you do that.

I’m happy to see that internal linking is being built-in and like @Harsh Agrawal said above, that particular function already exists with the Insights plugin. It would be nice if eventually they could build in the other features that the Insights plugin offers (Google search, Wikipedia search, Flickr search, etc.)

Oh, and also: the picture you have of an admin bar plugin is not really much like the one that we’re talking about doing, as your picture looks like it was based on a pre-2.7 installation of WordPress. We haven’t had those navigational sections since 2008. You should look at the one on wordpress.com, that’s more what we’re thinking, to help improve the multisite experience.

Please be careful in posting things like this. These features are not guaranteed to be included in 3.1, they are simply the features we are working on in the 3.1 development cycle. Inclusion will not be determined until we see where they all are at the feature freeze date. If any of them are not complete enough to be included in core yet, they will not be in 3.1. There may also be other reasons for features not being included based on other considerations that come up between now and then. Making a list like this in the first week of the dev cycle is to give us a plan for the work, not a plan for the release itself.

I’m very excited with the new features. I wish for WP to evolve to a plattform where i as a non-programmer can easily style all my posts, pages etc. and even create new page and post templates or even the whole wp theme without having to know code. (using a REAL WYSIWYG editor) (and i’m well aware that there is software like artisteer – but that doesn’t do what i need and i need a REAL wysiwyg – artisteer is not)

Insights plugin, yes, but the internal linking feature also has some similarities to the excellent „Microkid’s Related Posts“ plugin. (I have wished in the past that I could mash these two together.) It would be great to have the ability to insert an internal link with the link text being the title of the link target.
I really hope that on multisite installs, there will be checkbox options in this feature for „search this blog“ vs. „search network.“
Use case: a network has one blog that is a shared directory, property listing, book or product catalog. „Search network“ would allow authors from various blogs in the network to link to a common post for the item under discussion.
In this case, you’d want to make sure you could include custom post types in addition just „Post“ type content. That should probably be another search option (checkboxes to include/exclude various post-types), even on single-site installs.

A great set of improvements, something you’d expect from a major release really.
The contextual linking to other posts is great, provided that it dynamically updates if you were to move the post (perhaps give it a new slug, or alter permalink structure?). Anyone know if this is the case?
„Post Templates / Post Styles“ also a very powerful addition. Thanks for keeping us informed as always WPB!
