Il nuovo iPad di Apple sta creando un grande fermento, proprio come ogni altro prodotto Apple. In un solo giorno sono state vendute oltre 700.000 copie. WordPress ha annunciato una nuova versione della propria applicazione, chiamata WordPress per iPhone/iPad OS 2.4. Si tratta della prima versione dell’applicazione WordPress compatibile con l’iPad di Apple.
Non sono state aggiunte nuove caratteristiche a questa applicazione. È la prima volta che WordPress fa una versione senza caratteristiche aggiuntive. Tutto ciò che si può fare in WordPress 2.3 per iPhone, si può fare anche su iPad, ma con un’interfaccia progettata per sfruttare la maggiore superficie dello schermo.
Grazie a questa nuova app e al grande schermo dell’iPad, è ora possibile sfruttare la tastiera on-screen più grande (o utilizzare una tastiera esterna) per scrivere i post più corposi. In questo modo sarà sicuramente più facile scrivere articoli di blog più lunghi. È anche possibile moderare, modificare o rispondere ai commenti. Lo schermo grande vi aiuterà a moderare rapidamente i commenti di massa.
In questa versione è abilitata anche la funzione di geo-tagging. Se lo desiderate, potete far sapere ai vostri utenti da dove è stato inviato l’articolo. Ma questa caratteristica funziona solo con la versione 3G dell’iPad.

The ipad is a great wanna have gadget, but i seriously believe that all those apps, even apps in general have no real future. Yeah the ipad is creating another buzz but keeping track of all those different platforms to create apps for them is killing apps in general. Html and css will take over, especially if you look at their development and cross platform usage.. and are easy capable and usable for creating online apps. I think that should be a goal.

I had tried iPhone version, but it’s not a convenient one for me to write something long.
I think iPad will be great and with your screenshots, blogging will be easy with that Apple device too.

I’m not impressed with the IPad, I’d rather see more work on WordPress Android applications.

Thanks for the review, guys! I’m interested to see what we’re able to do in the future with image alignment, rich text editing, and lots of other stuff. You guys should make sure you’re not serving your mobile theme to the iPad, though — your normal design looks great on it.

These screens are so awesome, I wish I had an iPad to mess around with! I tried updating Inside the Webb a few times from my iPhone and the app there works well, but the iPad has so much more room for edits and typing.

In the iPhone version you don’t get to choose where the image is to be displayed. How about in the iPad version? Nice post, thanks.
