Poiché WordPress è una piattaforma di pubblicazione, esistono opzioni per la visibilità dei contenuti che la maggior parte dei principianti trascura. Avete mai pensato di creare un articolo per il blog che non volete far leggere a tutti? Forse solo per i membri della famiglia o gli amici più stretti? O forse solo per un gruppo molto speciale di utenti? In questo articolo vi mostreremo come potete proteggere i vostri post richiedendo una password o addirittura la registrazione dell’utente.
Quando scrivete un articolo, c’è un’opzione chiamata Visibilità, impostata di default su Pubblica. Facendo clic su Modifica, si vedranno opzioni come Protetto da password e Privato.
Il modo più semplice per proteggere l’articolo è aggiungere una password. È sufficiente selezionare il pulsante protetto da password e aggiungere la password desiderata. Solo le persone (familiari/amici) che conoscono la password potranno vedere il vostro articolo. Questo metodo funziona benissimo per i blog personali, ma se si vuole condividere un articolo solo con i propri editori?
In questo caso esiste un’opzione chiamata privato che mostrerà l’articolo solo agli utenti con livello di amministratore e di editore. Questo metodo viene spesso utilizzato per verificare tutti gli errori all’interno dell’articolo a livello aziendale. Ma potrebbe non essere adatto a ciò che si desidera.
Esistono altri modi per proteggere i contenuti che utilizzano meccanismi avanzati, come i siti di membership, che copriremo tra poco.

Incidentally I came across a lot of articles about WordPress membership recently and I was wondering if you can put together a series regarding the membership and the way to deal with content display and authorship on a multi-user WordPress site.
I know there are plugins that also hide a part of the article and only reveal the rest of the article only if you sign up for newsletter or Like or share the post…

I have password protect on a blog post, but then it will not allow comments on that post. The allow comments setting on the page is checked, any advice on how I can password protect and allow comments both on one post would be greatly appreciated!

I found the Private setting when I needed to take a page down but not delete it. I missed the pasword protect; that could come in very handy later on if I have a paid subscriber area. Thanks!

I set up a WordPress site for my high school class with password protection on certain pages with personal info. I got lots of complaints that the password would not work in IE.
