¿Por qué crear una galería de imágenes en WordPress?
WordPress hace que sea súper fácil añadir una imagen a las entradas y páginas de tu blog. Sólo tienes que añadir el bloque Imagen y subir tu imagen.
Sin embargo, si está añadiendo múltiples imágenes a su sitio web WordPress, entonces todas esas imágenes aparecerán una tras otra. No queda muy bien, y los usuarios tendrán que desplazarse mucho para verlas todas.
Al crear una galería, puedes mostrar las imágenes en una disposición de cuadrícula con columnas y filas. Puedes mostrar miniaturas de tus imágenes, y los usuarios pueden hacer clic en ellas para ver la imagen completa.
De esta forma, podrás mostrar más fotos en menos espacio y tendrá un aspecto mucho más profesional.
Por ejemplo, si está creando un sitio web de fotografía para mostrar sus imágenes, añadir una galería de fotos le permitirá mostrar su trabajo de una forma estéticamente agradable.

Método 1: Crear una galería de imágenes con el editor de bloques de WordPress
Si desea crear una galería de imágenes utilizando el editor de bloques de WordPress, entonces este método es para usted. Sin embargo, tenga en cuenta que esta característica es muy básica y no tiene muchas opciones.
En primer lugar, debe abrir una entrada/página existente o nueva en la que desee crear la galería desde la barra lateral del administrador de WordPress.
Una vez allí, haz clic en el botón “+” situado en la esquina superior izquierda de la pantalla. Desde aquí, busca y añade el bloque Galería a la página o entrada.
Una vez hecho esto, haga clic en el botón “Subir” para subir nuevos archivos de imagen desde su ordenador.
Sin embargo, si desea subir imágenes desde la biblioteca de medios, debe hacer clic en el botón “Biblioteca de medios”.
Si hace clic en el botón “Subir”, en general podrá subir una foto a la vez desde el ordenador.
Sin embargo, puedes seleccionar y abrir varias imágenes manteniendo pulsada la tecla Ctrl del teclado.
Una vez subidas todas las imágenes, puede añadirles leyendas al hacer clic en el icono “Añadir leyenda” de la barra de herramientas de bloques situada en la parte superior de cada imagen.
También puede añadir texto alternativo a las imágenes desde el panel de bloques de la derecha.
Si selecciona el botón “Biblioteca de medios”, podrá elegir varias imágenes a la vez para su galería.
Al seleccionar imágenes, también puede introducir el texto alternativo, el título y la leyenda de la imagen desde el panel de detalles del archivo adjunto, a la derecha.
Una vez que haya añadido todas las imágenes, sólo tiene que hacer clic en el botón “Crear una nueva galería”.
Esto le dirigirá a la página “Editar galería” en la indicación de la biblioteca de medios.
Desde aquí, puede seleccionar imágenes individuales y añadirles una leyenda, un título, una descripción o un texto alternativo.
Una vez que haya terminado, simplemente haga clic en el botón “Insertar galería” en la esquina inferior derecha.
La galería de imágenes que ha creado se añadirá ahora al editor de WordPress.
También puede personalizarlo aún más seleccionando el bloque Galería y estableciendo sus ajustes desde el panel de bloques de la derecha.
Por ejemplo, puede utilizar el carrusel / control deslizante “Columnas” para decidir el número de columnas y filas de sus galerías.
Incluso puedes conmutar el interruptor “Recortar imagen” para recortar las miniaturas y alinearlas mejor.
En las opciones de “Enlazar a”, puedes elegir Ninguno si quieres que tus usuarios solo vean tu foto. Esta opción desactiva la característica de hacer clic para tus imágenes.
Sin embargo, si selecciona la opción “Archivo de medios”, podrá hacer clic en las imágenes y se abrirá el archivo de imagen al hacer clic. Del mismo modo, la página de adjuntos se abrirá si selecciona la opción “Página de adjuntos”.
Cuando esté satisfecho con los ajustes, haga clic en el botón “Publicar” o “Actualizar” de la parte superior para guardarlos.
Por último, puede visitar su blog de WordPress para ver la galería de imágenes en acción.
Ya ha creado fácilmente una galería de imágenes para su sitio web. Sin embargo, pronto advertirá que carece de algunas características esenciales.
Por ejemplo, no se podrá hacer clic en las imágenes o se abrirán en una página nueva. Si enlaza las imágenes de su galería al archivo de medios o a la página de adjuntos, los usuarios tendrán que hacer clic en el botón Atrás para volver a ver la galería.
Esto no es fácil de usar y puede disuadir a los usuarios de seguir explorando su sitio web.
Del mismo modo, la apariencia de la galería también depende del tema de WordPress que esté utilizando.

Utilizaremos el plugin Envira Gallery ya que es el mejor plugin de galerías de imágenes para WordPress del mercado.

Desde aquí podrá añadir la leyenda, el estado, el título y un texto alternativo para cada imagen.
Cuando hayas terminado, no olvides hacer clic en el botón “Guardar metadatos” para guardar las leyendas de las imágenes.
A continuación, debe hacer clic en la pestaña “Configuración” de la barra lateral de la izquierda.
Desde aquí, puede cambiar la estructura / disposición / diseño / plantilla de su galería, incluido el número de columnas, la carga diferida de imágenes, el tamaño de las imágenes, la posición del título y la leyenda, los márgenes, las alturas, el tamaño de las miniaturas, las dimensiones de las imágenes y mucho más.
A continuación, cambie a la pestaña “Caja de luz” de la barra lateral izquierda y marque la opción “Activar caja de luz”.
Esta opción permitirá ahora a los usuarios ampliar las imágenes y navegar por ellas sin salir de la página.

Cuando estés satisfecho con los ajustes, haz clic en el botón “Publicar” de la parte superior para guardar los cambios.
A continuación, tienes que abrir una entrada o página en la que quieras incrustar tu galería.
Una vez allí, haga clic en el botón “+” de la esquina superior izquierda de la pantalla para abrir el menú de bloque.
A continuación, busque y añada el bloque Galería Envira a la página o entrada.
Una vez hecho esto, tienes que añadir tu galería de imágenes desde el menú desplegable del bloque Envira Gallery.
Por último, haga clic en el botón “Actualizar” o “Publicar” de la parte superior para guardar los cambios.

I just started using standard wordpress image galleries. When I add images to the gallery, if I do not have enough images to fill an entire row, the last row’s image is displayed at a size that allows the image to fill the full width of the container. So the default of 3 images per row applies until the row runs out of images, then I get a final row with a giant image. Is there a way to force every image to the same size so that the gallery just has all images the same size, regardless of whether the row it appears in is full?

For that, you would want all of your images uploaded to be the same size and then you would uncheck the crop images checkbox that forces your images to align.

I found this very difficult to follow, my WordPress is set up very different. The date at the top says Jan 2020, but there are comments from 2016? When was this created? Since the date at the top said January 2020 *(and it’s now June 2020), I thought this would still represent the current WordPress, but it doesn’t. So this is just very confusing…

I’m using th wordpress gallery creator. When I create a gallery with 3 columns in 2 rows of pictures, it looks good. But when I click on Preview, it shows me what my webpage will look like but it has the pictures all on top of one another and not in the 3 columns & 2 rows like I wanted.

I am trying to add an image gallery that has links to various external pages (i.e. you click on an image and it brings you to that website.) I have determined that this is difficult to do with the WP gallery because they want all the images to go to the same linked page, but I want each of my images to go to a different page. It seems envira is not free. I downloaded gridplus and gridable but am still struggling with how to do this. ideas??

My blogs show as individual thimble images on the front blog page. If you hover over image you see the title. My issue is when you click on my blog page it looks like I have nil blogs as it takes up to 20 seconds for all images to show. Can you have the blogs list as titles rather images? If i hide featured image the boxed appear blank which is worse.

How do you delete images from a gallery? I have tried every single thing I can possibly think of and followed all the advice given on the internet, but the images are still there on my home page, even though I have deleted them multiple times from the actual gallery. I created the gallery and published it, but when i put the mouse over the picture, it show a red square with two small silver squares that says: “view attachment page’ and “view in full size”
How can i remove it? I wanna make it like in facebook, that you just put the mouse over, click and see the carousel.

I did what you suggest above to create a simple gallery on a webpage. It shows up beautifully. However whenever I click on one of the thumb nail images it says : “image cannot be loaded. Make sure path is correct and image exist”.
