Come abbiamo fatto con WordPress 3.1, siamo di nuovo qui per aggiornarvi su ciò che potrebbe essere in arrivo con WordPress 3.2. Dopo il ritardo nel rilascio di WordPress 3.1, l’obiettivo futuro è quello di avere cicli di versione più rapidi. Mark Jaquith ha preso il comando per assicurarsi che tutti si concentrino per portare a termine il lavoro il più velocemente possibile. Quindi, selezioniamo le novità di WordPress 3.2.
Nota: gli screenshot qui sotto sono molto nuovi e non sono ancora in versione alfa. È probabile che vengano modificate, migliorate, aggiornate, ecc. quando uscirà la versione completa.
Nuovo layout dell’amministrazione
Nel corso del tempo, l’interfaccia utente di WordPress si è evoluta (selezionate il nostro articolo che mostra l’evoluzione dell’interfaccia utente di WordPress dal 2003 al 2009). In questa versione, stiamo finalmente assistendo a un’altra importante ricarica del design. L’obiettivo è quello di rendere tutto molto più semplice e pulito. Scrittura senza distrazioni
Questo fa parte del piano già da un po’ di tempo. In WordPress 3.1, l’interfaccia di scrittura è stata un po’ ripulita nascondendo i campi personalizzati e simili in modo predefinito. In WordPress 3.2, è in arrivo un nuovo pannello di scrittura senza distrazioni che consente di rendere l’interfaccia di scrittura a schermo intero, in modo da potersi concentrare solo sul contenuto piuttosto che su altri elementi sullo schermo. L’obiettivo è quello di rendere l’esperienza di scrittura più leggera e rilassante.
Tema Twenty Eleven
Vi ricordate che con WordPress 3.0 è stato introdotto un nuovo tema, noto come Twenty Ten? Ebbene, con WordPress 3.2 è prevista la versione di un nuovo tema chiamato Twenty Eleven. L’obiettivo è quello di avere più frequentemente nuovi e freschi temi predefiniti per WordPress, piuttosto che ripetere la situazione del tema Kubrick. Per chi non lo sapesse, Kubrick è stato il tema predefinito per molto, molto tempo. Questo tema è dotato di due schemi di colori:
Questo nuovo tema Twenty Elven è dotato anche di una pagina di opzioni del tema che consente di scegliere gli schemi di colore e il layout. (Sembra un tema a pagamento, ma è gratuito, WOOT!) – Complimenti al team di WordPress UI.
Sono stati aggiunti anche nuovi template per le pagine. I template delle pagine sono predefiniti con No-Sidebar. C’è una versione con barra laterale e anche un’opzione molto interessante, Showcase, che ha un cursore incorporato. Sul nostro host locale si è rivelata un po’ buggata, quindi non abbiamo ancora pubblicato screenshot.
Una delle caratteristiche più richieste è stata aggiunta all’area Immagini dell’header del tema Twenty Eleven, che consente di mostrare immagini casuali su ogni pagina. Molti utenti volevano vedere questa caratteristica in precedenza. Questa sembra una caratteristica molto interessante.
Miglioramenti dell’aggiornamento
Il sistema di aggiornamento attuale non è male, ma può essere certamente migliorato. In WordPress 3.2 e successivi, quando è disponibile un aggiornamento, verranno aggiornati solo i file modificati, riducendo così i tempi di aggiornamento per alcuni utenti.
Miglioramenti alla velocità
WordPress supporta ancora alcune vecchie tecnologie nel CORE che saranno abbandonate in questa versione per renderlo più veloce! Nacin sta esaminando il lazy loading di PHP. È in lavorazione una patch per rendere più veloce il caricamento del menu di amministrazione e per apportare miglioramenti all’FTP, che sarà molto più veloce.
Nuovi requisiti per PHP e MySQL
WordPress 3.2 richiederà PHP 5.2.4+ e MySQL 5. Quindi, se volete passare a questa versione, assicuratevi che il vostro host la utilizzi già. Gli host WordPress di qualità utilizzano già la tecnologia più recente. Noi consigliamo HostGator. Se volete verificare se il vostro host è compatibile con WordPress 3.2, scaricate il plugin richiesto WordPress Requirements Check. Questo plugin vi permetterà di sapere se il vostro host è on line con la tecnologia più recente. Se non lo è, vi suggeriamo di chiedergli di aggiornarlo o di cambiare host.
Potete iniziare a testare voi stessi scaricando le nightly build. È divertente ed emozionante vedere le nuove caratteristiche. Secondo la roadmap, la versione di WordPress 3.2 è prevista per il 30 giugno 2011.

Hi guys great work on beautifying the admin interface. I still think you should make an official wordpress framework theme like roots but less obtrusive. Addaptable with 960gs, blueprint jQuery ect. with a nice documentation

I’d also still stick with my Thesis theme
But the performance improvements are definitely something to wait for!

I love the custom menus.
I’ve been messing around with Genesis and wordpress custom menus – so easy to produce menus, dropdowns etc.
Speed improvements has got to be a winner – so slow at present.
I know – use W3 total cache. LOL

I am glad to see that the admin panel is getting cleaned up more. Twenty Eleven looks pretty nice for a starter theme but you should really buy a premium theme to make your blog stand out.

Just download and setup on my local XAMPP server, one thing confuse me – The Twenty Eleven, it look alot like Duster theme (http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/duster/). When I activate the theme and preview the site, I thought ‘why am I seeing Duster theme, when i’m installing Twenty Eleven theme?’
Overall, I love the new UI – delicious.com-look-like-arrow-kinna graphics that actually ‘points’ to what the context ‘means.’
I want 3.2 to be a stable release as fast as possible. Am waiting for it, hope you guys do it too

Everything is okay; but I didn’t like the Duster — or so called twenty eleven theme at all. Twenty Ten was much better than this and after that we expected something much better. Plus wordpress just adopting it, not designing it by their own I guess (I’m not sure, though).
