Not too long ago, we were talking about WordPress 3.0, but from the looks of the development track, we are on our way to WordPress 3.1. From the scope, it looks like the new version will be out sometime in mid December 2010. There are some very exciting features that will be added, so lets get right on it.

Most hyped up WordPress 3.0 has been officially released. WordPress 3.0 is one of the thirteenth major release of WordPress open-source platform. Along with some of the most impressive features, this release also fixed 1217 bugs. Some of our favorite features include: Twenty Ten Theme, Advanced Menus, Custom Post Types, and ability to upgrade multiple plugins from the plugins page.

WordPress 3.0 is coming out very soon (May 1, 2010). The first beta version of WordPress 3.0 is already out for users to try out. You should try it on a test blog to see all the cool features. WordPress team has released WordPress 2.8.5 today as a hardening release to make WordPress extra secure. Because the update improves your site security, it is recommended that you upgrade as soon as possible.

Yesterday, WPBeginner was facing some hacker attack. It was users trying to reset the password, but thankfully they could not get the random password because the site is not using the default admin user. But nonetheless it was an annoying thing to deal with. Hackers kept trying to reset our password and we had to deal with it for six times until we added more security layers.

WordPress has released another security release as version 2.8.3. This version fixed problems that were left in 2.8.2 so upgrade now. This is a security release so the upgrade should not be optional.

Not long ago WordPress released its version 2.8.1, but there has been another update. WordPress 2.8.2 was released today as a security patch to fix the possible exploit.
