Adobe’s new release Adobe Create Suite 5 comes with something that WordPress users can appreciate. The new version of Dreamweaver is now WordPress friendly. In the past versions, they did not have any kind of CMS support, but they have added CMS support for Joomla, Drupal, and most importantly WordPress in this release. This is great news for beginner level users who are not familiar with coding because this will allow them to add a custom sparkle to their blogs. It will also make editing much easier for experienced WordPress designers.

If you are a new designer or graphic artist who wants to learn to code for WordPress, then Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 is just for you. The new code hinting feature suggest WordPress hooks and codes that you would spend hours searching for on the web. It is easy to use, and it will save you time.

Dreamweaver CS5 displays proper syntax for custom PHP functions to help you write code more accurately. This would be excellent for new developers who are starting to write plugins for WordPress.
The only downside to this product is the high price, but we can assure you that it is well worth spending the money. Check out the video below:

I’ve had Dreamweaver CS5 for months now and didn’t know of these functions until now! Thank you very much for sharing!
If this is my first time introduced to Dreamweaver.. can I just jump straight into Dreamweaver CS5 and buy the extension ???? or do I have to buy the other CS3 or CS4…. in order to get CS5 ????
Very useful new functions. I hope I will be able to upgrade my DW soon.
Yeah, DW CS5 is cool, but there is a bit of learning to do for us Newbs. I initially set up a local server using MAMP. MAMP is very simple to download for free and set up with your DW site.
This is coming from a person who knew Zero about code and how MySQL, APACHE, PHP, CSS, HTML worked. I still know very little, but these tools have helped my learning curve.
BlueHost is doing my hosting and when I attempted to download my new local site in DW I ran into some difficulties. Part of the problem was that I couldn’t “install” WP using DW. I had to set up a MySQL database on BlueHost then transfer my theme to the remote directory; and, I think I had to export my WP site from the WP Admin then Import those files to the remote directory. Actually, I don’t really know if all that works because I got as far as the MySQL datbase setup then I mistakenly deleted some of my files and said *@#$it.
So, I ended up starting fresh by installing WP with SimpleScripts on my BlueHost server then I created a new site on DW and connected to my remote server then “GET” & “PUT” my remote files to my “local” folder. Know I have it set up, but I’m still working out the knowledge to easily use live view and inspect. I have made some small css changes using live view and I really like the potential for how this will help me.
I am currently trying to figure out how the css properties will show when using live view. Sometimes they don’t show and I don’t know why.
I am considering setting up MAMP to use as a local server and I think this will be a lot more smooth to integrate now that my remote & WP is set up.
Local server setup is almost always the best idea for development and learning.
CS5 looks great I have been using dreamweaver CS4 for a while now does anyone know how much the Upgrade is from CS4 is?
If you have CS4 (which you do) and even CS3 Dreamweaver the upgrade is “only” $199, which is pretty reasonable considering how CS5 has progressed. I assume there are places online with maybe better deals for upgrades, but the above mentioned price is from ADOBE.COM
Hope that helped.

It looks fantastic, but i dont know how to use local host test servers, so I cant use any of the new features. It would be nice if they included a simple tutorial to get started with a wordpress site, or a template to work with.
Im grumpy from going throu Xampp and Coldfusion tutorials all day and still not having a clue.
Nice! I’d like to try it. Too bad Dreamweaver isn’t really in the price range of the “wordpress beginner”…
This still requires a server and live connection to see Live View, and a site definition and configuration. Then you need to upload your themes. Even then, Design View is still somewhat broken. Its easier to just download any theme and open it to see it in design view and make your CSS changes via the ThemeDreamer extension for Dreamweaver.
ThemeDreamer.com has enabled WordPress theme design visually in Dw CS5, CS4, CS3 and even Dreamweaver version 8 (where most Dreamweaver extensions makers drop support). Not to mention support for code hints and live documentation.
wooh its looks cool
need to try it
Hi,
I am impressed with CMS management feature of Adobe Dreamweaver CS5. Even it was possible earlier with an extension called themedreamer but that was not so efficient. But DW CS5 added a lot new features and capacity to theme development.
