iTheme2 – Free Mac OS-like WordPress Theme by Themify

Our close friend and highly reputed designer Nick La has released numerous Free themes on his site N.Design Studio. One of those theme was known as iTheme, a free Mac OS-like theme. With the launch of their new WordPress theme company, Themify, they have decided to convert iTheme into iTheme2 which runs on the elegant Themify framework. The best part about it is that it is FREE. It is the perfect theme for technology related blogs. This theme uses media queries to target different displays such as desktop, netbook, iPhone, iPad, and other mobile devices (no plugin is necessary!). You get 3 color skins of the theme, 3 single post layout, feature slider, and 5 widget ready footer display options.

As you see in the above image, it shows the 3 different views from 3 different devices. The layout automatically adjusts base on the viewing area. So for smaller devices like Netbooks or mobile phones, it automatically adjusts. There is a featured slider that is easy to manage from the theme backend.

Wow – that’s a really neat theme. Looks well worth the $39.

  2. BrendaBell says:

This is really a beautiful theme. Unfortunately, menus are totally broken. It seems to follow the old “pages are menus” methodology — totally ignoring the menus I’ve defined. I realize it’s a free theme, but themify’s policy is that you have to buy a theme before you can ask questions in the forum and I’m not sure I want to buy their themes if they don’t handle custom menues.

Between a rock and a hard place, sigh…

    • wpbeginner says:

@BrendaBell Not sure if they have plans to upgrading old themes, but I know from using their new themes is that they support menus. Their themes are beautiful, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to buy.

      • BrendaBell says:

I got it to work. I temporarily flipped themes and when I reverted to iTheme some of my settings were missing :(

  3. eCentric Marketing says:

I have just upgraded my wordpress to 3.2.1 and seems to be some jquery conflicts with this theme.

    • bharatkumarvbk says:

Same for me. having some confliction issues with plugins based on jquery

      • vbk says:

I thought the version 1.1.2 would resolve the jquery conflict issue. So activated it. But unfortunately , the problem exists and no change :)

  4. Cultofiphonecom says:

    I really like this theme

  5. Brad Davis says:

Nice looking theme. Should be great for apple reviews and the like!

  6. Keith Davis says:

Brilliant looking theme – thanks for the heads up.

BTW – are you guys planning anything about theme frameworks?
I’m starting to look at frameworks so if you are struggling for your next topic!

    • Editorial Staff says:

We have not planned any framework review, and most likely we will not do one anytime soon. We are using Genesis for our personal and business development.

  7. Matthew Snider says:

The menu itself is not very cleaned up in Chrome. Jagged edges and more. Not sure it’s ready for prime time yet.
