Maximizing Performance and Speeding Up WordPress (WordCamp Raleigh 2011)

As many of you guys know that we are attending WordCamp Raleigh. Syed Balkhi (founder of WPBeginner) started the Power User track with his presentation on Maximizing Performance and Speeding up WordPress. Speeding up WordPress can help you decrease bounce rate, increase page views, increase time spent on page, and improve SEO. So check out the presentation slides (there are notes for slideshare audience).

We would be posting notes and slides for other presentations as well.

P.S, we would not be able to make this trip if it wasn’t for our amazing sponsor.

When your wp become huge, then you need to have more than 1 database and load balance them. hyperdb is a go.

    It’s a nice presentation Syed.
But i don’t really like W3tc, since it too greedy on resources. When it comes up to more than 10k posts, don’t even think to clear the cache. Otherwise W3tc will try to cache everything at once.
I prefer WP Minify (minify css and js) + Hypercache + DB Cache reloaded Fix (compatible for WP 3.1) they are work great.
And i want to add a technique called CSS Sprite to reduce the HTTP requests.
    Thanks for this useful presentation.

    Best Regards

    Ivan
